The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).​


Who should take this course?


The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.


What does this course teach?


  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Important early use of an AED

Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements.

HSI Emergency Medical Services Authority Pediatric Certification for Childcare Providers (EMSA)

Child Care Provider training consists of 16 hours of training for first-time licensees


  • 4 hours of Pediatric First Aid 4 hours of Pediatric CPR/AED
  • 8 hours of Preventive Health and Safety Training (Not offered by LifeSavers)


Every two (2) years, child care providers must renew their training by completing 4 hours of pediatric First Aid and 4 hours of pediatric CPR.

Develop the knowledge to help adults, children and infants when responding to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, choking, sudden injuries and illnesses.


This program conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC, and the 2015 AHA and ARC Guidelines Update for First Aid.

HSI Advanced Bleeding Control

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, traumatic injury is one of the leading causes of death for people under 50 years of age in the United States. A large portion of those deaths are from severe bleeding – the most treatable cause of death due to trauma.


American Safety & Health Institute’s Advanced Bleeding Control is designed to provide detailed information on the control of severe external bleeding, including the use of direct pressure, commercial pressure bandages, tourniquets and packed dressings.


Advanced Bleeding Control is designed for groups and individuals who have a greater than average chance of witnessing an injury event in which heavy bleeding occurs and professional medical care is not readily available or is overwhelmed, such as law enforcement, private security, workplace emergency response team personnel and staff at large events, campuses or large occupied buildings.

HSI Bloodborne Pathogens
